Within her official visit to the Kingdom of Spain, Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova held a meeting with Pedro Rollan, President of the Spanish Senate, the Press and Public Relations Department of Milli Majlis told APA.
Pedro Rollan expressed interest in further expanding relations between the two countries. He emphasized the Senate’s strong commitment to enhancing inter-parliamentary relations and readiness to support cooperation between governments.
The Senate President praised Azerbaijan’s economic development and highlighted the support of Spanish companies operating in Azerbaijan, particularly in the transport sector. He also noted the high value placed on cooperation between the countries in the energy field.
Sahiba Gafarova noted the successful development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Spain in various sectors, including positive experience in economic collaboration. She emphasized the broad potential for expanding cooperation in other fields.
During the discussion, Gafarova stressed the importance of developing parliamentary cooperation, highlighting the significance of reciprocal visits by parliamentary delegations. The meeting also included an exchange of views on establishing cooperation between parliamentary committees.
