Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin, who is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the 24th meeting of the Commission on Interparliamentary Cooperation between the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told APA.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Cooperation Commission is an important platform for expanding cooperation between the two parliaments and discussing a number of other issues on the agenda. It was noted that the latest meeting was successfully held and featured productive discussions.
The sides highlighted the successful development of relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries. It was noted that meetings between parliamentary speakers and deputies contribute to the further expansion of these relations.
Issues of cooperation within international parliamentary organizations, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, and other international organizations, were also reviewed.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
