Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili within the framework of the Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Istanbul, APA reports.
During the meeting, Shalva Papuashvili presented the Georgian Parliament's "Sheref" ("Honor") medal to Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
It was noted that the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament was awarded this highest award for her contribution to the development of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as to the further strengthening of friendship between our peoples. It was emphasized that Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova is the first parliament speaker to be awarded this medal.
