Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament attends enthronement Ceremony of Pope

The ceremony of enthronement of the Pope Leo XIV took place in the St Peter Square in the Vatican on 18May, Press and Public Relations Department of Azerbaijani Parliament told APA.

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarovarepresented our country at the ceremony that went withthe attendance of Heads of State and Government, clerics and prominent public figures from the world over.

At the meeting held on the sidelines of theenthronement, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis conveyedto the Pope Leo XIV the congratulations of President ofAzerbaijan Ilham Alıyev on his election as the Head ofthe Holy See, and wished him success in hisforthcoming endeavours.
