Speaker: Croatia recognizes important role Azerbaijan plays in the region and beyond

Azerbaijan and Croatia can be proud of the achievements made over the past 30 years, said the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Gordan Jandroković, who is on a visit to our country during a joint press conference with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, APA reports.

"Today, Croatia and Azerbaijan are strategic partners and friends with intensive political dialogue and excellent economic relations. Croatia recognizes and applauds Azerbaijan’s exceptional economic achievements, as well as its significant role not only in the South Caucasus but also beyond the region. My colleague, Ms. Gafarova, and I had a sincere and constructive exchange of views on various aspects of our bilateral relations, the situation in the neighborhoods of both Azerbaijan and Croatia, as well as the current geopolitical challenges and security crises," said the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament.

He also touched upon the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process. Jandroković added that Croatia firmly supports the progress made towards normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan.
