“We look forward to achieving cooperation and mutual understanding with the Baku Initiative Group," Moninder Singh, head of the Sikh Federation in Canada, told journalists, APA reports.

“We truly have deep ties with this country and this land. We are grateful to the people of Azerbaijan and the people of this region for giving us the opportunity to speak about the June 1984 massacre, the events that we regard as genocide, and the Khalistan movement of the Sikh people for sovereignty.

At the same time, it is important that the voices of those who were victims of genocide and torture are heard, that their names are not forgotten, and that their stories are conveyed to the whole world. Thanks to the Baku Initiative Group, we have gained the opportunity to bring our story to a global audience. The people of Azerbaijan listened to us and provided a respectful platform for us to express our views,” he noted.
