Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan speak with one voice on the international stage, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said this in a joint press statement with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, APA's special correspondent reports.
“Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan has already gone far beyond the bilateral agenda. The historic decision on Azerbaijan’s accession to the Format of Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia was an important step toward creating a common space of trust, good-neighborliness and interaction between Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
“Our countries speak with one voice on the international stage. We consistently coordinate our diplomatic activities, strengthening our allied dialogue on key international platforms within the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Turkic States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the CIS and other structures. Life itself and the depth of our discussions demonstrate the broad scope and unprecedented momentum that the agenda of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan political cooperation has gained.
“As a result of today’s productive negotiations, we approved a significant package of agreements covering the most important areas of our cooperation. In this regard, dear Mikhail Gaydarovich, I sincerely thank you for your firm position and support for all our proposals.
“I am confident that the results of this historic visit will enrich our partnership with concrete substance and open up new horizons for joint projects and the sustainable development of our two brotherly countries,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said
