A scandalous video of Luis Ocampo, former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, known for his bias and near-hostility toward Azerbaijan, has surfaced.
APA presents the article with reference to Minval Politika:
Disgrace in European politics continues. The sensational video footage obtained by Minval Politika clearly demonstrates the extent of the Armenian lobby’s activity within European institutions and the level of corruption at the highest leadership of the European Union. The footage features former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Luis Ocampo and his son Tomas. Both speak very openly and bluntly about their goals and the tools they use to achieve them.
First, let us take a look at who Luis Ocampo is. There is no need to introduce him in detail to the Azerbaijani audience. An Argentine citizen who left his prosecutorial post amid a major scandal, he has in recent years turned into a paid lobbyist for Armenian interests. This individual is ready to do anything to fulfill the orders of his new sponsors — from spreading blatant fakes and falsehoods to manipulating xenophobia and Islamophobia. We have previously reported extensively on his disgraceful activities.
However, the scandal surrounding the now-retired prosecutor is taking on new dimensions. During the conversation, Ocampo’s son openly states their objective: “What we need to achieve is to remove Pashinyan, the Prime Minister.”
Even more noteworthy are Luis Ocampo’s own remarks. As seen in the video, he openly states: “If I had a company engaged in such activities, we could do it at cost. For example, I currently have a very capable person on my team who was previously a member of the European Parliament. He served as a legal adviser…” The interlocutor clarifies: “Borrell?” Ocampo responds without hesitation: “Yes, that same Borrell. This person now works for me in the European Parliament. I can speak there, raise questions, direct them, and put pressure on Commissioner von der Leyen, thereby shaping European policy.”
We present the video recordings and their transcript below:
Luis Moreno Ocampo: If I have a company that does these things, we can produce them at cost, because, for example, right now I’ve got a really sharp guy on my payroll, who used to be a member of the European Parliament. He was the legal adviser to--
Interlocutor: Borrell?
Luis Moreno Ocampo: The Borrell. So, this guy is now working in the European Parliament for me. And there, in the European Parliament, I can address, I can challenge, I can direct questions, and put pressure on Commissioner Von der Leyen, and in that way tweak European policy.
...And on top of that, there’s something new going on — something I didn’t know about. Brand new, there’s a case within the European Court of Justice to force the Commission to cancel the contract with Azerbaijan. The reason is that the contract includes a clause requiring Azerbaijan to comply with human rights, and it is alleged that this condition is not being met.
So, I’m opening up this new space for myself, which is — why is it important now? The European Union matters now because Trump is already clearing the way. We’re getting onto a road that’s already been paved. We pile on more pressure, and I’m going to do it in combination with the Armenian lobby in the United States. So, we got in there and pushed something that’s much more doable. I don’t have to break down the wall — the door’s already open, and we just push it.
Tomas Moreno Ocampo (his son): What we did was to orchestrate people, to make them aware, “Look, this is happening.” To help them understand what was going on. To this day — for example, today there was a meeting. Today there is a meeting with activists, with businesspeople, with people who are working on the case, on the entire situation involving the Armenians, right? The Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh. And one of them, who is a young woman, is leading the social media campaign — because in Armenia there is a huge mess right now. A real mess of internal disputes over the elections.
So, No, what we have to achieve is to remove Pashinyan, the Prime Minister.
Interlocutor: The President?
Tomas Moreno Ocampo: We have to remove him.
As can be seen, Ocampo’s plans are quite extensive: to force the European Commission, through the European Court, to cancel its agreement with Azerbaijan and to increase pressure in coordination with the Armenian lobby in the United States. It appears that the main tool is speculation around the topic of “human rights.”
This is already a very serious matter. In essence, it involves gross interference in Armenia’s internal affairs and attempts to undermine regional peace and security. Put plainly, Luis Ocampo is conducting a campaign against Azerbaijan and regional peace, financed and commissioned by the Armenian lobby, with broad involvement of European politicians and Armenian oligarchs based in Russia.
Moreover, one of the key figures in this campaign is former EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and his circle. The editorial team also possesses information about other members of the European Parliament and high-ranking EU officials involved in this campaign.
The campaign has reportedly been financed mainly by Armenian oligarchs living in Russia — including Samvel Karapetyan, Ruben Vardanyan, and others. Particularly noteworthy is Ocampo’s son openly discussing Armenia’s political situation and plans to remove the prime minister. It appears that Ocampo, Borrell, and others have been at the center of a campaign conducted in Europe and the European Parliament, with Russia’s involvement, aimed at a change of power in Armenia, including the removal of Nikol Pashinyan.
In fact, this is not an isolated case. Some time ago, the EU sent a group to Armenia to counter hybrid threats. Interestingly, structures such as the European Parliament itself may also play a role in shaping these threats. Moreover, the wording and narratives of the relevant European Parliament resolution strikingly coincide with Russian rhetoric.
Frankly speaking, the scale of corruption within European institutions is no secret. It is also known whom Borrell serves. However, the presented materials reveal new sensational names and facts.
Most importantly, we are living in a time when every exposé is often presented as a “deepfake” or a product of neural networks. Therefore, we state in advance that the video materials we present are completely original and have not been subject to any manipulation using artificial intelligence. We understand the potential doubts that may arise and reiterate that the footage we present is real.
In accordance with journalistic ethics, Minval Politika is also ready to publish Ocampo’s position in order to clarify the situation. The editorial team also plans to send official inquiries to the European Parliament and other EU institutions to obtain comments regarding this scandal.
We rightfully expect answers to our questions. Will the European Parliament, the European Commission, and the Belgian special services investigate these alleged facts of corruption that we have presented? These facts require an urgent and comprehensive investigation. The Belgian special services should examine the activities of the individuals mentioned within the European Parliament and uncover possible corruption schemes involving Borrell, Ocampo, and others. It is also expected that Armenian media will investigate this issue domestically and take measures against hybrid threats.
We have no doubt that we will witness new scandals and investigations in the European Parliament regarding this case. The activities of Ocampo and his network — the Armenian lobby and co-opted European politicians — clearly show that their target is not only Baku. Yerevan and the fragile balance emerging in the region are also in focus. In other words, this is an attempt to disrupt the peace process and return the situation to a scenario of controlled destabilization.
