Saint Martin Parliament member: Freeing from French and Dutch colonialism is our peoples' most fundamental Right

"Organizing similar conferences is an important step in advancing towards our main idea, which is independence," Franklin Meyers, a member of the Parliament of Saint Martin, said during an international conference organized by the Baku Initiative Group dedicated to the island of Saint Martin, which was under the colonial rule of France and the Netherland, APA reports.

"Being independent and freeing ourselves from the colonial rule of both France and the Netherlands is the most fundamental right of our peoples. We are here to ensure that this right is recognized worldwide. We believe that organizing similar conferences is a very important step in advancing towards our main idea, which is independence. We thank the Baku Initiative Group for their support in this direction," Meyers said.
