Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan met with the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the head of the Venezuela-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, America Valentina Pérez Dávila, APA reports, citing the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis.
The meeting highlighted the presence of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Venezuela. During the discussion, it was noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and that there are broad opportunities to deepen these ties further. It was emphasized that reciprocal visits are beneficial for discussing these opportunities. The exceptional role of reciprocal visits, including high-level and top-level visits, in the development of bilateral relations was also highlighted. The sides noted that Azerbaijan and Venezuela have been cooperating effectively within international organizations and expressed satisfaction with their mutual support in the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). It was emphasized that Venezuela supported all initiatives proposed by Azerbaijan during its NAM chairmanship.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
