“Azerbaijan-Slovakia relations have been elevated to the level of strategic partnership,” Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova said at an event held in Baku on the occasion of Slovakia’s Constitution Day, APA reports.
Conveying the congratulations of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Sahiba Gafarova said that Azerbaijan-Slovakia relations are based on traditional friendship, mutual respect and trust.
According to her, as a result of high-level reciprocal visits, bilateral relations have been elevated to the level of strategic partnership within a short period of time.
The Speaker noted that cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, investment, military-technical cooperation, culture, education and interparliamentary relations is expanding. She emphasized that the launch of direct flights between the two countries would have a positive impact on tourism, business ties and people-to-people contacts.
Sahiba Gafarova also noted the “Smart Village” project being implemented by a Slovak company in Bash Garvand village of Aghdam district and described it as an indication of Slovakia’s support for the reconstruction of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
She expressed confidence that the relations of friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Slovakia will continue to develop successfully.
