“Against the backdrop of profound changes taking place in the modern system of international relations, reaffirming the UN’s central coordinating role is of particular importance,” President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov said at the SCO Plus format meeting, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports.
He said that Kyrgyzstan is honored to conclude its chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation with an event held in such a broad and high-level format.
Sadyr Japarov noted that the main theme of the meeting is “The UN as a key element of a just world order: Contribution of SCO Plus states to the formation of a multipolar world.”
“The choice of this theme is driven by the profound changes taking place in the modern system of international relations. Today, it is particularly important to reaffirm the central coordinating role of the United Nations, as well as our shared responsibility for shaping a just, sustainable and equitable world order,” the Kyrgyz President emphasized.
