"I am very glad to be in Baku and admiring this city again," President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said during a meeting in limited format with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku, APA reports.
He stated that he has heard a lot about the great attention the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva has given to the development of Baku city: "We love Baku. Baku is a beautiful city. Most importantly, it is developing in such a way that many other big cities may envy it. The city is improving successfully and I would say, is turning into the region's oasis."
Putin also expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for its attention to the Russian language and the work of schools where it is taught. The President of Russia recalled that there are 300 Russian-language schools operating in Azerbaijan, as well as branches of Russia's leading universities.
