We are establishing strategic partnership and alliance relations with Azerbaijan, said Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, at a briefing held today, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
Shee recalled that they celebrated the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 28, and at the official reception organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moscow, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Galuzin, gave a detailed assessment of the Russian-Azerbaijani relations.
Zakharova also spoke about the exciting situation in the South Caucasus. She underlined that these are mainly related to the destructive activities of Westerners. "Baku is talking about this and we give an appropriate assessment. The West needs to shake up the situation. From their point of view, the countries of the region should not make contact with each other, they should be hostile. Their neighbors should be interested in endless settlements, not economy, trade or infrastructure. Everyone sees these trends," said the Russian MFA spokesman.
