"Russia's position on the issue between Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding the enclaves is known," the Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova said in a briefing she held today, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

According to her, Russia's position on this matter is well known and consistent: "We urge the parties to exercise maximum restraint in this regard and refrain from aggressive rhetoric. All the territory arguments, the mutual claims should be resolved at the political-diplomatic level and only by political-diplomatic methods without exception. Issues of this kind, as well as the exchange of the enclaves need to be resolved within the framework of bilateral commissions on the delimitation of Azerbaijan-Armenia border. On our part, we are ready to assist this work to the maximum extent, taking into consideration the existence of rare cartographic materials in Russia."

Zakharova added that similar principles can be applied to the opening of transport communications between Azerbaijan and Armenia as well: "I bring to your attention that we do not use the term Zangazur Corridor. We are talking about the route connecting the western regions of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan through the Syunik province of Armenia."

The Russian MFA Spokesperson called for the restoration of the Tripartite Working Group, which deals with the opening of transport communications between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
