Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov answered the question about which of the existing platforms is more viable regarding the normalization of Baku-Yerevan relations at the press conference held after the meeting of the Regional Cooperation Platform held in 3+3 format in Istanbul, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

The Russian minister said that the platform from which Azerbaijan and Armenia can come to an agreement is more alive: "If they can come to an agreement directly (without a mediator - ed.), we will only be happy."

Lavrov reminded that Azerbaijan and Armenia were offered to use the 3+3 platform today: "Given what Armenia and Azerbaijan's neighbors have seen in this format, it would be natural. However, Baku and Iravan should make the decision about this."

“A "3+3" cooperation platform was proposed to finalize the work on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told this in his statement to journalists, APA’s Turkish correspondent reports.

The top diplomat noted that the normalization of relations between Türkiye and Armenia is important here, but this process is also connected to the process between Baku and Yerevan.

According to Lavrov, Russia and Iran will do their best to achieve positive results in this direction. Lavrov also added that he hopes that Georgia will participate in this platform in the future.
