Moscow court has authorized the seizure of documents related to the investigation into the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) Embraer 190 aircraft on December 25, 2024, APA’s Russia bureau reports, citing RIA Novosti.

The decision was made in January 2025 by Moscow’s Basmanny Court after reviewing a request from the investigator, which was supported by the prosecutor.

Court documents indicate that the criminal case regarding the crash is being handled by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The ruling has come into effect and allows for the seizure of documents at two locations in southern Russia.

It should be noted that the plane, which was en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, on the morning of December 25, 2024. There were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board, with 29 survivors.
