“We thank Azerbaijan for assisting in the delivery of humanitarian aid from Russia to Iran,” Russian Ambassador Mikhail Yevdokimov told journalists, APA reports.
The diplomat noted that everything had been well organized: “President of Russia Vladimir Putin instructed that medicines be delivered to this country at the request of the Iranian side. The decision for the plane to be received by Azerbaijan was made by President Ilham Aliyev within one hour. I would like to thank the Azerbaijani side very much. As you can see, everything has been organized very well.”
The ambassador added that 13 tons of medical supplies sent from Russia will be delivered to Iran today.
Note that a plane carrying humanitarian aid sent from Russia to Iran has landed at Lankaran International Airport.
