Russia consistently supports a lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, said Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, at a briefing today, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to her, it is difficult to overestimate the contribution of the Russian Federation to normalization, and the current stage of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations began with the active assistance of Russia and President Vladimir Putin personally.
Zakharova recalled that between 2020 and 2022, Moscow’s direct involvement made it possible to reach high-level trilateral agreements: “They literally stopped the bloodshed on the ground and defined the main directions of the peace process.”
