Russia hopes to continue dialogue with Armenia on Zangezur corridor

Russia hopes to continue dialogue with Armenia in the context of opening communications, Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said today while discussing the Zangezur corridor, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

According to her, understanding how this route will function in practice can only be determined after reviewing the project’s specific details.

“Several additional factors must also be considered: Armenia is part of the Eurasian Economic Union’s unified customs space, the South Caucasus Railway company is a subsidiary of Russian Railways and manages Armenia’s railway network, and Russian border guards secure the border in the area through which the route is expected to pass,” the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted.
