Representatives of Azerbaijani and Armenian civil society met in Yerevan with participation of Armen Grigorian -PHOTO

A bilateral roundtable was held in Yerevan with the participation of representatives of Armenian and Azerbaijani civil society, APA reports, citing Armenian media.

The roundtable was held with the participation of Security Council Secretary Armen Grigorian.

The initiative of the meeting of civil society representatives aimed to promote the peace agenda in the spirit of the Joint Declaration adopted in Washington on August 8, 2025.

The Azerbaijani side was represented at the roundtable by Farhad Mammadov, Rusif Huseynov, Ramil Isganderli, Kamala Mammadova, and the Armenian side was represented by Areg Kochinyan, Boris Navasardyan, Naira Sultanyan, Narek Minasyan and Samvel Meliksetyan.

Grigorian highly appreciated the holding of meetings in this format within the framework of the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He emphasized that the participation of different segments of society will only strengthen peace.

Representatives of civil society, in turn, thanked the Armenian side for organizing the event and creating a positive atmosphere.

The participants stressed the importance of continuing such initiatives aimed at strengthening mutual trust and cooperation.

The parties discussed a number of issues of interest to both societies, including the prospects for the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, humanitarian issues, economic and logistical opportunities in the context of the normalization of relations, as well as measures to further strengthen trust. During the discussions, special attention was paid to the preparation of plans and the determination of future directions of the group's joint initiatives.
