On June 11, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov, met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, in Tashkent, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.

The meeting emphasized with satisfaction the dynamic development of relations between the two countries in various fields. It was noted that during the mutual state visits of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, new directions were identified for further expanding bilateral cooperation.

The importance of continuing close cooperation between the governments to ensure the implementation of the instructions given by the heads of state was emphasized.

It was noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The consistent and comprehensive development of interstate relations over the past period was highlighted with satisfaction. Reciprocal high-level visits and meetings, as well as bilateral documents signed during these visits, were considered the main factors ensuring this success. In the last three years, ten mutual visits at the highest level have taken place – Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev have each made five visits.

It was noted that as a logical result of the consistent joint efforts of the heads of state, a historic Treaty on Alliance Relations was signed in 2024.

At the same time, it was emphasized that the President of Uzbekistan will soon pay another visit to Azerbaijan.

The meeting discussed the prospects for the development of relations in various fields of mutual interest between the two countries.
