Prime Minister: Victory and peace initiated by Azerbaijan were formalized with US President's participation and signature

The triumphant visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Washington, which was in the center of attention of the whole world, not only further strengthens the authority and position of our country in the international political arena, but also opens up new prospects for ensuring long-term peace in the region, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov stated at a special meeting dedicated to the historic visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Washington, APA reports.

The Prime Minister said that the highest level of respect and honor shown to President Ilham Aliyev by President Donald Trump in the capital of the world's most powerful state, Washington, the special sympathy, sincerity and high hospitality shown to Azerbaijani head of state, the presentation of the symbolic key to the White House by the US head of state to the head of state of Azerbaijan are a vivid expression of the special attitude of the American President to the personality and leadership of President Ilham Aliyev: “The victories won by our Brave Army on the battlefield under the leadership of President, the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and the peace initiated by Azerbaijan were formalized in Washington, with the participation and signature of the US President. The historical documents signed within the framework of the visit, on the one hand, serve to bring Azerbaijan-American relations to a new stage of development and their elevation to the level of strategic partnership, and on the other hand, lay the foundation for the normalization process of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, and serve to resolve extremely fateful issues for Azerbaijan and the region.”

Ali Asadov noted that after November 8, the whole world and we witnessed the next historical event on August 8: “The date of August 8, written in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan’s diplomacy, was marked by the achievement of the goals of the peace concept, which was founded by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and perfectly developed by President Ilham Aliyev in accordance with the challenges of the time, after a long, difficult, but honorable path. These achievements are the logical result of the strong leadership, tireless efforts, unshakable steel will, determination and principledness, brilliant diplomatic skill, great foresight and wise decisions of the President of Azerbaijan. They are based on the new geopolitical realities created by the liberation of our Karabakh and all our occupied lands and the provision of our absolute sovereignty, as well as the strengthening of Azerbaijan’s reputation in the international community. In the post-war period, Azerbaijan’s foreign policy puts forward the main priority of ensuring lasting peace, mutual recognition of state borders and the opening of communication lines. In this regard, the documents signed in Washington are of particular importance."
