Azerbaijan has fully restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty, ending nearly 30 years of Armenian occupation, Prime Minister Ali Asadov said this at the 11th D-8 Summit in Cairo, APA reports.
The Prime Minister said that Armenia has carried out ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijanis in our occupied lands, and more than one million Azerbaijanis have become refugees and internally displaced persons: "Urbicide, culturicide and ecocide have been committed in our territories. The cultural and religious heritage of the Azerbaijani people has been destroyed. 65 out of 67 mosques located in those territories have been razed to the ground. Currently, large-scale reconstruction and reconstruction work is being carried out on these lands, and villages and cities are being completely rebuilt. Thousands of former internally displaced persons have already returned to their ancestral lands. New realities open up unique opportunities for lasting peace and stability in the region, as well as mutually beneficial cooperation. Azerbaijan is committed to the regional peace agenda and will continue its decisive steps in this direction."
