“We are trying to ensure that no one comes and lectures us in the region," said Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, during his speech at the panel discussion titled “Multilateralism in Crisis: Rethinking Global Cooperation” held within the framework of the Global Baku Forum in Baku.
He noted that countries outside the region can present their interests and contribute to the region: “In the early years of independence, we placed our hopes in international organizations. We resolved the conflict through military and political means. Today, Armenia and Azerbaijan are deepening the peace agenda.”
