“This question should be directed to the Armenian side. Cooperation with U.S. companies is their own business. We, on the other hand, are focused on our own work: expanding our transportation links and establishing contacts with our neighbors—Georgia, Iran, and Russia,” Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, said in response to a question about granting control over the Zangezur corridor to U.S. companies, APA reports.
He said that such relations could benefit the region as a whole: “If Armenia is ready for this, we would like to jointly develop the Transcaucasian transport corridor.”
