“There’s a need to take serious measures against Islamophobia,” said professor Cole Durham, the President of the G20 Interfaith Forum during international scientific conference on “Embracing Diversity: Tackling Islamophobia in 2024” held in Baku, APA reports.

“In general, the scope of response measures should be expanded. We witness that other sects are also subject to various oppressions. All these facts absolutely show that solutions to hatred and contempt on religious grounds are an effective and necessary process,” he said.

According to the professor, adequate responses to hate speech should not be delayed:

“For this, special trainings can be conducted, governments can establish dialogue platforms, and individuals can be encouraged to do so. I hope that we will find solutions, learn and teach within the framework of mutual cooperation.”
