Active work is underway on joint customs checkpoint projects with Azerbaijan and Armenia, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his speech at an event dedicated to International Customs Day, APA’s local bureau reports.
He noted that the projects implemented with the support of the Asian Development Bank are the best example of regional cooperation.
Kobakhidze said that at a time when trade routes are being reassessed around the world, Georgia is emerging as a regional stability and logistics hub. The Prime Minister emphasized that the ongoing reforms in Georgia’s customs sector are of great importance in this process.
