“Azerbaijan will strive to consolidate international efforts in the fields of urban development and ecology,” Prime Minister Ali Asadov said in his speech at the Regional Environmental Summit in Astana, APA reports.
“Based on the experience of successfully hosting COP29, Azerbaijan is preparing to host the 13th World Urban Forum in May this year in cooperation with UN-Habitat. In addition, Azerbaijan will host World Environment Day in June 2026. We plan to use these platforms to promote the global sustainable development agenda and to consolidate international efforts in the fields of urban development and ecology. In conclusion, I would like to emphasize the importance of further strengthening joint efforts and ensuring a coordinated approach in addressing transboundary environmental issues. Azerbaijan remains committed to the principles of international cooperation and is ready to actively contribute to achieving our common goals,” the Prime Minister said.
