"The support shown by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Ilham Aliyev during the recent conflict will always be deeply valued by the people of Pakistan," Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said during the trilateral summit of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan in Lachin, APA reports.

He emphasized that the Kashmir issue must be resolved peacefully in accordance with UN resolutions.

“Once again, I sincerely thank you for the support extended to Pakistan during the recent conflict. It was clearly a case of military aggression by India against us, without any justification. At that time, dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, I thank you for your firm stance and solidarity. Likewise, the strong support shown by dear brother Ilham Aliyev was also highly appreciated by us. Both our people and government, and I personally, will always express our gratitude to you both and to your nations. We have always stood for peace—in the past, today, and we will continue to do so in the future. Of course, peace requires sitting at the negotiating table. These are important issues and must be resolved peacefully. This issue is related to the Kashmir problem and there are relevant UN resolutions on it. This issue should also be resolved in accordance with the will of the people of Kashmir. The second issue concerns water. Unfortunately, during this conflict, India violated the water agreement, depriving 240 million Pakistanis of access to water. This water is crucial for both drinking and agricultural use. It deeply saddened us that India used this vital resource as a tool against us. We hope such actions will not occur again in the future.”
