Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received Azerbaijan’s Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov as part of his visit to Pakistan, the Ministry of Justice told APA.
Farid Ahmadov first conveyed the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in turn, asked that his greetings and deep respect be conveyed to the Azerbaijani head of state.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the friendship and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are based on historical, cultural, and religious ties, and at the same time are developing at the level of strategic partnership in all directions.
At the meeting, it was stated that within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation and the Cooperation Program signed over the past two years between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Ministry of Law and Justice of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, measures on mutual exchange of experience between the parties have been implemented. It was noted that the legal documents signed between the two countries have made an important contribution to the development of relations.
Effective cooperation between the countries in the fields of legal assistance and extradition was discussed. It was also emphasized that there are opportunities for further development of cooperation in the field of law and justice.
