Ombudsman's Office of Azerbaijan issued a statement on military provocations committed by Armenia in the border areas

“We, unfortunately, note that Armenia continues to commit provocations systematically in the border areas and around our territories, liberated from the occupation”, noted in the statement of the Ombudsman’s Office, APA reports.

On August 16 at 09:30 a.m, Armenian armed forces from the positions located in Arazdayan settlement of Vedi region fired at the positions of Azerbaijan in the direction of Heydarabad settlement of Sadarak region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic from submachine guns and machine guns.

"We strongly condemn such provocations contrary to the norms and principles of international law, the provisions of the trilateral statement dated November 10, 2020, aimed at violating fundamental human rights and threatening peace, and call on the world community and relevant international organizations to take decisive measures to deter Armenia from such actions that threaten peace".
