OIC prosecutors general adopt Tashkent declaration on crime prevention and regional cooperation

A delegation led by Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev conducted an official visit to Uzbekistan, APA reports.

During the visit, the delegation paid tribute at the square in Tashkent dedicated to Azerbaijan’s National Leader, Heydar Aliyev.

The delegation also visited Azerbaijan’s embassy in Uzbekistan and met with embassy staff. As part of the visit, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev participated in the 6th meeting of Prosecutors General of the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) member states held in Tashkent.

During the event, the “Tashkent Declaration of the 6th Meeting of Prosecutors General of OIC Member States” was adopted.

The declaration emphasizes strengthening the role of prosecutorial bodies in member states in combating crime, particularly corruption and environmental offenses, enhancing regional cooperation against cyber and financial crimes, and promoting joint efforts in sustainable development and environmental protection.

During the visit, Kamran Aliyev held bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts, discussing issues such as mutual legal assistance in criminal cases, extradition, recovery of assets obtained through criminal activity, corruption crimes, and other topics of mutual interest.

The delegation’s visit has concluded successfully.
