“Holding this conference is an indicator of Azerbaijan's strong commitment in the combat against Islamophobia,” said Yousef Al-Dobeay, Assistant Secretary-General of Political Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation during his speech at the opening of the international scientific conference on “Embracing Diversity: Tackling Islamophobia in 2024” held in Baku, APA reports.
The Assistant Secretary-General of OIC thanked Azerbaijan for this conference. He said that Azerbaijan is taking exemplary steps in the combat against Islamophobia regarding with the relevant UN resolution: “This conference is a commendable initiative and it reflects Azerbaijan’s strong commitment to combat Islamophobia. I express gratitude on behalf of OIC for the invitation to this conference."
