Official Tashkent: Highly important documents signed during Azerbaijani President’s visit to Uzbekistan

Highly important documents, including a comprehensive package of bilateral documents, have been signed during the Azerbaijani President’s visit to Uzbekistan, Amir Sultanov, head of a department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, said this in a statement to Azerbaijani journalists, APA's special correspondent reports.

The Uzbek Foreign Ministry official particularly highlighted the Treaty on Eternal Friendship among these documents.

Amir Sultanov noted that important economic documents were also signed during the visit:

“These are, first and foremost, the program to increase trade turnover to $1 billion, as well as the Roadmap for the implementation of investment projects.”

He said that the Agreement on Pension Provision, aimed at ensuring the pension rights of citizens of the two countries, can also be highlighted as a key document of social significance:

“This document provides for specific mechanisms for the calculation, recalculation and payment of pensions to citizens of the two countries. As a result, the pension rights of citizens engaged in employment activities in the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are ensured.”
