Russia and Azerbaijan cooperate actively in all sectors, based on the importance of not only bilateral relations but also the development of regional tasks in which our countries are mutually active, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, told Azerbaijani journalists within the framework of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS held in the capital of Russia, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
"We see the strong desire of the collective Western countries and the NATO bloc to fish in troubled waters and, moreover, to stir up that water. I believe that Baku, like other countries in the region, is well aware of this," the Russian diplomat emphasized.
Zakharova noted that the countries of the South Caucasus should ensure that "the desire of the West to manage chaos does not lead to the disruption of the overall stability observed in various parts of the world affecting our common region": This region has gone through many hardships and conflicts, including bloody and ruthless wars, among people of different nationalities. Therefore, anyone who wishes to come in peace and help will be welcomed by all. Those who bring only stones or knives should be expelled from our region. We have made significant joint efforts to maintain peace in this region, and we must do everything possible to prevent the next tricksters and manipulators from implementing their controlled chaos policies. Because in the last decade, this chaos has taken on an uncontrollable character.
