Official Baku expects decisive steps from Armenia regarding amendments to its Constitution

"The Azerbaijani public is well aware that the Armenian Constitution contains territorial claims against our country," Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov told journalists, APA reports.

"We expect decisive steps from Armenia in this regard. Recently, the arguments we have heard from Armenia cannot satisfy us. The recent decision of the Armenian Constitutional Court has further complicated this issue. In other words, the decision states that the preamble of Armenia's Constitution is immutable, and it is specifically noted that it is impossible to amend the preamble. This complicates the matter even further. Because the preamble references Armenia's Declaration of Independence, and that document violates Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty. This decision makes the situation even more complicated," the Minister noted.
