"Azerbaijan-Poland relations are rooted in a strong historical tradition. Polish engineers played a significant role in Azerbaijan’s oil industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries," said Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev at an event marking Poland’s Constitution Day on May 3, APA reports.
Mr. Rzayev highlighted the successful development of bilateral ties both on a state level and within international platforms.
As proof of this, he cited the signing of the "Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership" and the "Roadmap for Economic Cooperation":
"In recent years, our foreign ministers met on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly and held a phone call earlier this year. Strategic partnership consultations were also held in Baku. Poland values the role of the Intergovernmental Commission with Azerbaijan, which serves as a strong platform for boosting ties. We are confident that our joint efforts will further enhance Azerbaijan-Poland relations.”
