Azerbaijan and Türkiye always stand by each other, and this will continue to be the case, Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov said at a commemoration event held at the Turkish Embassy on the occasion of July 15 – Democracy and National Unity Day, APA reports.
The deputy minister stated that modern Azerbaijan–Türkiye relations are developing on the basis of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s motto “One nation, two states”: “The Shusha Declaration signed in 2021 has laid the foundation for deepening and expanding allied relations. If we look at just the first 6–7 months of this year, we can already say that 2025 will be remembered as a significant year in terms of relations between the two countries. In the first half of this year alone, five mutual visits have already taken place.”
The deputy minister added that economic ties between the two countries are expanding and deepening with each passing day.
Samir Sharifov noted that joint projects carried out by Türkiye and Azerbaijan in the fields of energy and logistics have contributed to global energy security: “Azerbaijan–Türkiye relations, which are experiencing their brightest period in history, continue within the frameworks of regional and international organizations. Even on platforms where one of the two is not present, Azerbaijan and Türkiye defend each other’s interests.”
