An "Education USA" fair was held in Baku for students and parents interested in studying in the United States, organized by the US Embassy in Azerbaijan in cooperation with the American Councils for International Education, APA reports.

The event brought together representatives of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan, as well as Azerbaijani youth currently studying in or graduated from US universities.

It was announced during the event that 1,130 Azerbaijani students studied in the US during the 2023–2024 academic year—an increase of 25.4% compared to previous years.

Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan Hugo Guevara spoke about the country's educational opportunities, noting that planning for higher education in the US is both exciting and demanding.

He also emphasized that Azerbaijani students studying in the US serve as cultural ambassadors:

“I wish success to everyone taking this path. As you know, the US is home to over 5,000 universities and colleges offering a wide range of academic programs. Many Azerbaijanis have studied or are studying at these institutions. By receiving a globally oriented education, they also represent their culture and become symbols of our friendship. The growing number of Azerbaijani students in the US reflects our country’s global leadership in education and the modern academic opportunities available to students.”

Notably, the event featured 30 alumni booths and provided information on US higher education institutions, as well as the US Embassy’s exchange programs. Attendees were also informed about undergraduate and graduate programs, student visas, and other essential topics related to studying in the United States.
