On the second day of the Founding Forum of the Global South NGO Platform, a panel discussion was held themed "Global South Rising: The Bandung Spirit and the Struggle for a Sovereign Future", APA reports.
The moderator of the panel, Member of Parliament Parvana Valiyeva spoke about the historical significance of the Bandung Conference.
She noted that this prestigious event played an important role in the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The speakers shared their thoughts and proposals regarding the establishment of the Global South NGO Platform.
Omar Ashour, Director of Center for Research and Policy studies highlighted Azerbaijan's efforts to bring the position of the Global South to the attention of the international community.
International management consultant Carlyle Corbin thanked Azerbaijan for its efforts in the struggle against neocolonialism.
Salem Ayenan, Head of the Future of Future NGO noted that countries representing the Global South are part of the world community, but they face challenges regarding visa issuance and travel to certain countries.
