The newly appointed Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), Ramil Hasan, expressed hope that Uzbekistan will soon join the organization, APA reports.
Hasan made the remarks during the official handover ceremony, where he assumed the post from former Secretary-General Mehmet Süreyya Er.
He emphasized his commitment to elevating TURKPA to new heights, noting that a “new chapter” is beginning for the organization.
The Secretary-General also announced plans to work towards the establishment of a joint parliamentary body under the Organization of Turkic States.
“After achieving concrete results, we will address the media again. It is my moral duty to work for each member state of TURKPA,” Hasan stated.
