New building of Nizami Ganjavi University to open, Azerbaijan Park to be built in Uzbekistan

The new building of the National Pedagogical University named after Nizami Ganjavi will be inaugurated in Uzbekistan, and an Azerbaijan Park will be built, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, APA's special correspondent reports.

“Our alliance is based on the centuries-old common history of our two brotherly peoples and the closeness of their cultural values. It is our duty to carefully preserve and further enrich this rich heritage and to regularly hold mutual culture days at the appropriate level. Moreover, such events should be organized not only in the capitals but also in the regions of our countries.

“Today, together, we will inaugurate the new building of the National Pedagogical University named after Nizami Ganjavi and launch the construction of Azerbaijan Park in New Tashkent. In order to bring our peoples even closer together, Ilham Heydarovich and I discussed this during our meeting in a narrow format, and we propose producing a joint film titled ‘Literary Bridge Between Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navoi.’ This will be a very good example of bringing our peoples, especially young people, closer together.

“This should be regarded as a beginning. We should create a series of such films about the history and rapprochement of our peoples. We support holding the second forum of rectors of the leading higher education institutions of the two countries in Azerbaijan this autumn,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
