MP: Punishing Armenian savages who committed genocide is essential for ensuring peace and justice

“By occupying Garabagh, Armenians have committed unprecedented war crimes against civilians and committed great tragedies,” Azer Badamov, a member of the Milli Majlis said in a statement to APA.

The MP said that genocides were committed against Azerbaijanis living in Khojaly, Meshali, Bashlibel, Garadaghly and other settlements, and they were forced to flee their homeland barefoot in the cold of winter.

Azer Badamov noted that during the Second Garabagh War, Armenian savages repeated the same crimes: "Our cities and villages located far from the war zone were fired upon with missiles, civilians were killed, and a large amount of damage was caused."

The MP stressed that the war crimes committed by Armenians over the past 30 years should not go unpunished: “The war crimes and acts against humanity that have been committed in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan during this period, especially in Garabagh and surrounding districts, are contrary to international law and the laws of war. These are not only crimes committed against the Azerbaijani people, but also grave crimes against humanity. Impunity creates the conditions for the committing of more war crimes in the future. Therefore, it is important to assess and punish these crimes legally. These crimes should be investigated by international courts, especially by the European Court of Human Rights, the UN and other international organizations, and perpetrators should be prosecuted. But unfortunately, as a result of the double standards taking place in the world, international courts did not take these crimes seriously, especially since they were committed against Azerbaijanis, and so the Armenians continued their criminal acts for 30 years.

The war crimes committed in Garabagh are of great importance not only for the past, but also for ensuring peace and justice in the future.

The crimes must not go unpunished, as this will not only ensure the rule of law, but also serve to ensure justice and peace at the international level."
