Minsk interested in learning Baku’s solid waste sorting experience

The delegation of the Baku City Executive Power participated in the events dedicated to the 958th anniversary of the capital of Belarus, Minsk, the Press Service of the Baku City Executive Power told APA.

It was reported that within the framework of the visit, Deputy Head of the Baku City Executive Power, Ayaz Huseynov, met with Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Oleg Korzun.

The meeting discussed areas of cooperation of mutual interest, including urban economy, environmental safety, and waste management.

Oleg Korzun highly appreciated the development of Baku, the level of improvement, and the cleanliness. He noted that he was aware of the success of the projects implemented in Baku, especially in the field of collection, transportation, and sorting of solid household waste, and expressed his interest in learning from this experience.

Ayaz Huseynov emphasized that as a result of the successful policy of the head of state, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Baku is developing, and large-scale construction and improvement works are being carried out in the city. Today, the strengthening of relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus is the result of the political will of the leaders of both countries. He also noted that the solid waste sorting project implemented in Baku, in accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, is being successfully implemented, and they are ready to share Baku's experience in this area.
