Minister of International Department of CPC Central Committee: China and Azerbaijan are strategic partners

China and Azerbaijan are strategic partners, and there is a thousand-year history of friendship between Azerbaijan and China, said Liu Jianchao, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, at the conference on "Azerbaijan-China Strategic Partnership: Consolidation and Promotion of Cooperation in the Global South,"APA reports.

Liu Jianchao emphasized that based on mutual trust, Azerbaijan and China support each other: "We support Azerbaijan's program for socio-economic development, covering the year 2030. We stand together against external interventions. As early as the 12th century, Nizami Ganjavi described beautiful and wise Chinese women in his works. Azerbaijani carpet art has been presented in China. There are very deep and warm relations between the peoples of the two countries. The modern world is full of chaos. Since the beginning of this year, the international situation has faced great upheavals. New challenges have arisen on the Eurasian continent. China and Azerbaijan are important countries on this continent. The development of relations between China and Azerbaijan brought confidence in this unstable period. For us, there are new perspectives and new corridors. Together, we promote peace and security within the Shanghai Cooperation platform. We sincerely believe that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will play an even more important role. China and Azerbaijan are jointly implementing a security concept in Eurasia. This cooperation creates the foundation for ensuring peace and security in the Eurasian continent."

Liu Jianchao noted that China and Azerbaijan are important members of the Global South: “China and Azerbaijan are joining efforts for the development of Global South countries. Xi Jinping has always said that, even if the international situation changes, China will always remain a supporter of the developing countries in the Eurasian continent. The advantages of the Global South countries are significant, and these countries stand against terrorism. China and Azerbaijan have become the most effective voices of the Global South.”
