Observer status has been granted to the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis, told APA.
A ceremony was organized in this regard within the framework of the 1st Summit of Speakers of member and partner parliaments of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean held on May 7.
Speaking at the summit, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova expressed gratitude for the decision to grant observer status to the Milli Majlis in the organization and highly appreciated it.
She said participation in the Assembly creates broad new opportunities for further strengthening and developing relations with member parliaments.
