"The renewal of the Astara terminal and the construction of the bridge are nearing completion," Rovshan Mirzayev, Deputy Head of the Economic Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during the Q&A session following the panel discussion titled "Azerbaijan and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO): Opportunities and Prospects," APA reports.
According to the speaker, the most important transport network that Azerbaijan is currently promoting is the Trans-Caspian route: "Of course, the North-South Transport Corridor is another direction of promotion. The renewal at the Astara terminal and the construction of the bridge are nearing completion. There are some minor issues in allocating funds for the construction of the Astara-Rasht road. Negotiations are currently underway."
