We welcome the initialing of the agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, reached in Washington on August 8, 2025, on the opening of communication channels that will ensure unhindered transportation between the main part of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, unlock the region’s transit potential, and contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity, APA reports.
This is stated in the Gabala Declaration on the results of the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States.
The document states that the leaders, expressing their support for the ongoing efforts of the member states aimed at launching and developing the Zangezur Corridor and reaffirming their commitment to the full utilization of the potential of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway, emphasized the importance of the Trans-Caspian International East–West Middle Corridor and the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway in strengthening interregional connectivity and diversifying trade routes between Europe and Asia.
