Among the foreigners evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan over the past two days, Iranian-origin U.S. citizens constitute the majority, APA’s southern bureau reports.
Since this morning, citizens from Australia, Germany, Tajikistan, Iran, the U.S., Canada, Italy, and Venezuela have been evacuated to Azerbaijan.
Recently, the evacuation of Iranian-American citizens has been notably higher.
Vali Ahmadi Zonuz, originally from Tabriz and residing in Baku for the past three years, said, “I am very pleased to be back in Azerbaijan. I arrived completely comfortably. After arriving here, we received the necessary attention and passed through smoothly.”
Note that several countries have requested Azerbaijan’s assistance in evacuating their citizens from Iran. For several days, foreign nationals have been evacuated through the “Astara” state border checkpoint.
